Jack Grealish’s England Return Could Solve Tuchel’s Problems

Jack Grealish is expected to return to the England squad, potentially addressing key issues for new manager Thomas Tuchel. The 29-year-old was left out of Tuchel’s first squad for games against Albania and Latvia after an underwhelming season with Manchester City.

While Jude Bellingham and Myles Lewis-Skelly impressed in England’s 2-0 win over Albania, Phil Foden and Marcus Rashford struggled, leading to their substitutions in the 74th minute. Ex-Ireland striker Clinton Morrison believes Grealish could thrive under Tuchel, telling Sky Sports News:

“I bet Tuchel will like someone like Grealish. He’s an intelligent footballer who can get on the ball and move it well. But he, like Foden, needs to adapt his game to fit into this England side.”

Tim Sherwood added that Grealish and Foden perform best in a central attacking role, but with Bellingham a guaranteed starter, they must find alternative positions.

Grealish Must Improve Man City Form First

Grealish has struggled to justify a starting spot at City, managing just one assist in 16 appearances this season. His move to Manchester was seen as an effort to cement his England place, but adapting to Pep Guardiola’s system has proven difficult.

Now, with both his club and international careers at a crossroads, Grealish may need a move to a team that allows him to flourish creatively. While Tuchel would likely appreciate his skillset, the winger must earn his spot by improving his club performances first.
