In an interview four years ago – and without batting an eyelid – the midfielder, 28, admitted he felt that way: ‘Because she’s pretty and I like her music’.
When the interviewer commented that she had a feisty side and might walk off, Jack shyly smiled and said: ‘I think that’s cool.’
And on Sunday night, the Man City star proved dreams really do come true as he shared a picture of himself standing next to the superstar singer.
Wearing a blue football top with a jumper tied around his waist, Jack could be seen with his arm round the megastar.
Rihanna, 36, looked effortlessly cool in an oversized sports top, check trousers and baseball cap.
Her hair was pulled back from her face and she wore a baseball cap on top of her head.
The Fenty founder accessorised with a stack of gold chains and finished off her look with a bold red lip.
Jack captioned the picture: ‘A few days in the Big Apple.. Now to Orlando’.

Jack also shared a sizzling shirtless snap of himself in a pair of swimming trunks as he lounged by the hotel pool on his phone.
The footballer showed off his impressively toned muscles and six-pack, as he sat with his legs crossed on the blue sofa.
It comes after Jack and his long-term partner Sasha Attwood announced they are expecting their first child together.
The couple are childhood sweethearts, who met when they were 16 years old.
