Jannik Sinner has officially confirmed the end of his relationship with fellow tennis professional Anna Kalinskaya. The world No. 1 also dismissed growing speculation that he is currently dating someone new, despite recent appearances suggesting otherwise.

Sinner and Kalinskaya had been rumored to have split since late 2024, but neither had commented publicly—until now. Speaking ahead of his return to competitive tennis following a three-month suspension, Sinner clarified his relationship status.

“I was surprised to see some of the photos of me in the press (with a girl),” he said. “In the end, it made me realise that I’m someone important on and off the court. Simply put, I’m not in a relationship.”

The photos in question show Sinner in Monte Carlo with Russian model Lara Leito, who also attended one of his practice sessions, fueling speculation that they were dating. However, Sinner stopped short of confirming any romantic involvement with Leito.

His statement marks the first official confirmation that his relationship with Kalinskaya has ended. The pair began dating in early 2024, with their romance becoming public during the French Open when Kalinskaya was seen supporting Sinner at Roland Garros. The two later vacationed together in Sardinia and were frequently spotted together during the 2024 season.

Their relationship reached a high-profile moment during the US Open, when Kalinskaya was in Sinner’s box during his final victory over Taylor Fritz. The couple shared a warm embrace and kiss on court, prompting even marriage rumors later in the year.

At the time, Sinner laughed off the speculation:
“My wedding? It’s news to me too (smiles). I didn’t ask Anna to marry me.”

Kalinskaya also addressed the rumors online, calling them “fake news” and writing:
“To clarify things about fake rumors: this is not true. Thank you for all your congratulations. False start.”

Despite media silence for months, Italian outlets reported their breakup in late 2024. Now, six months later, Sinner has put the speculation to rest.

As he gears up for his return at the Italian Open in Rome, Sinner’s off-court life continues to generate as much interest as his performance on the court.
