Despite a rough patch in 2025, Alexander Zverev has a firm believer in his corner—Simone Vagnozzi, the coach of rising star Jannik Sinner.
In a recent statement, Vagnozzi expressed unwavering confidence in the German’s future success, especially in Grand Slam tournaments.
“I am convinced that Zverev will win a Slam, at least one,” Vagnozzi said. “He’s improved significantly since his ankle injury. The progress he has made post-recovery surpasses all that he achieved before it.”
Zverev, currently navigating a challenging stretch on tour, has yet to reach another final since finishing runner-up at the 2025 Australian Open. His latest efforts at the BMW Open have failed to yield the results fans had hoped for, sparking discussions about his form and confidence.
Yet, Vagnozzi’s assessment offers a more optimistic view, acknowledging the depth of Zverev’s talent and resilience. The German has long been regarded as a potential Grand Slam winner, and with backing from respected figures within the tennis world, expectations for his comeback remain high.
