Jessica Pegula’s Playful Dig at Dolphins After Miami Open Win
Jessica Pegula, one of the world’s top tennis players and heir to the Buffalo Bills’ ownership, took a lighthearted jab at the Miami Dolphins after her latest victory at Hard Rock Stadium—home of the Bills’ AFC East rival.
Pegula’s Miami Dominance Continues
Currently ranked No. 4 in the world, Pegula secured her third Miami Open semifinal appearance in four years by defeating rising star Alex Eala in a thrilling three-set match on Thursday night.
With the semifinal set against world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka on March 29, Pegula made sure to acknowledge both the crowd and her Bills’ connection.
“Thank you guys so much for coming out. I love playing here. I love playing at home. I love getting wins in the Dolphins’ stadium, just saying. Sorry, guys,” Pegula joked, drawing laughs from the crowd.
The Bills’ Success at Hard Rock Stadium
Pegula’s comments weren’t just playful banter—the Buffalo Bills have dominated the Dolphins at their home stadium in recent years. Buffalo has won five of its last six games in Miami and remains the favorite to secure a sixth straight AFC East title.
If the Dolphins want to silence the Pegula family’s winning streak, they might need to find a way to beat their division rivals first.
What do you think? Will Pegula’s Miami magic continue, or will Sabalenka spoil her run?
