Fresh off her Charleston Open title, Jessica Pegula isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Despite her current form and high WTA ranking—which would afford her a break if she chose to take one—the American star is pushing forward with a packed schedule.

Pegula is set to represent Team USA in the Billie Jean King Cup before heading to Germany for the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart. What makes this stretch even more remarkable is that Pegula has little to defend on the clay this season, having skipped most of it in 2024. Still, she’s embracing the challenge—and the travel.

A surprising inclusion in the Billie Jean King Cup squad, Pegula will compete on indoor hard courts for Team USA, aiming to secure a spot in the Finals. She’ll then pivot to clay as she makes her debut appearance in Stuttgart.

Interestingly, this European swing comes with a twist: Pegula will be without her usual coaching staff. Instead, she’ll treat the trip as part competition, part getaway—traveling with her husband Taylor, who she jokingly referred to as her “coach” for the upcoming events.

“I think I’m going to go play Stuttgart, so I’ll be there anyway. I haven’t played it before, so I want to try and win a Porsche,” Pegula said in an interview. “I’m just not going with a coach these next couple of weeks. It’ll be a bit more relaxed—traveling with Taylor, not taking things too seriously after a crazy few weeks.”

Despite the laid-back approach, Pegula’s motivation remains high. The Porsche Grand Prix title, currently held by Elena Rybakina, is a tempting prize, and Pegula seems eager to continue her momentum following back-to-back finals.

“I’m just trying to have some fun with the team when I get to Stuttgart,” she added, signaling that while the atmosphere might be lighter, her competitive fire is still burning.

Pegula’s busy calendar shows her versatility and commitment, and fans will be watching closely to see how far she can take this impressive run—both on and off the clay.
