Joe Cullen admits he has underachieved in his career but will still play a starring role as FLOWER BOY at Nathan Aspinall’s wedding.

World No.33 Cullen sits 19th on the all-time list of Professional Darts Corporation title winners, having claimed 13 trophies.

But ‘The Rockstar’ delivered a brutally honest verdict on himself, confessing he has fallen short of expectations.

Cullen, 36, believes he has the talent to achieve far more on the oche, but says his work ethic has held him back.

He told Winmau: “If I’m honest and look at myself in the mirror, I think I have underachieved. I should have won a TV tournament before I did.

“But again, you get out what you put in. I have been self-proclaimed lazy. I can only blame myself.

“I think coming through I had more talent than so many players there, but they put far more work in.

“That is where they sort of reaped the rewards before I did.”

Cullen also revealed he will be front and centre at close pal Aspinall’s wedding in a role he never saw coming.

The pair regularly share a table on the ProTour, and Cullen joked that what began as a casual chat quickly turned into a firm commitment.

Former Masters champion Cullen also lifted the lid on plans for a boozy Ibiza stag do, set to take place during World Cup weekend.

He added: “He wants me to be a flower boy at his wedding. Is it TikTok or Instagram, with the lad where he has got the bum bags.

“He asked me when we were out and I said ‘yeah I’ll do it’. Then his missus was like we are putting you in the wedding to do it.

“We are going to Ibiza at the start of June. There were going to be a few more coming, but the only weekend that makes sense is the World Cup weekend.

“So, both Lukes were supposed to come. Jonny Jonny Clayton was supposed to come. Daryl Gurney was supposed to come.

“After darts, there is me, obviously Nathan, Chris Dobey, Ross Smith, Adam Hunt and Andy Boulton is going.”
