Judy Murray, Andy’s mum, chimed in after her son doubled down on coaching Novak Djokovic. The Brit, who joined Djokovic’s camp for the off-season and Australian Open, recently cemented their partnership indefinitely—just months after retiring. Murray’s now back on tour, jetting to Indian Wells this week and set for the Miami Open too, supporting the 24-time Grand Slam champ.

Once bitter rivals—clashing in all four Grand Slam finals and vying for world No. 1—Murray and Djokovic have flipped the script. Post-retirement, Djokovic tapped his old nemesis to guide him, leaving fans stunned to see the three-time Major winner in the Serb’s courtside box at Melbourne. Now, he’ll reprise that role at the Masters 1000 events in Indian Wells and Miami.

It’s a hefty pledge for Murray, who’s not keen on a full-season grind but is game for weeks away to mentor Djokovic. Judy, unfazed, hinted at their tight bond with a cheeky tweet: “A fine bromance…” after the Indian Wells-Miami plan broke.

Djokovic’s commitment also raises eyebrows—he hasn’t played Miami since 2019, often skipping or cherry-picking these events. After a Qatar Open flop last month against Matteo Berrettini—without Murray—he’s eager to rebound. In Doha, he locked in their ongoing gig, saying, “We chatted post-Australia, reflected on our time. He needed to mull it over with family. I wanted to keep going, and I’m thrilled he’s in. It’s open-ended, likely through the U.S. and clay. We’ll see.”

At Indian Wells, Djokovic, now No. 7, skips round one and faces either Nick Kyrgios or a qualifier next. Murray’s absence in Qatar didn’t stop their Australian Open trial, cut short by Djokovic’s injury retirement in the semis. Now, they reunite in California.
