Lewis Hamilton Hits Back at Critics with Defiant Response

Lewis Hamilton has delivered a strong rebuttal to his doubters, particularly former F1 team owner Eddie Jordan, who questioned his move to Ferrari. The seven-time world champion made it clear that he doesn’t pay attention to criticism from “older, white men,” responding to speculation that he is past his prime.

Hamilton’s switch to Ferrari was met with skepticism, especially after a challenging 2024 season in which he finished seventh in the Drivers’ Championship despite securing two Grand Prix victories. Jordan, among the most vocal critics, expressed disbelief over Ferrari’s decision to replace Carlos Sainz with Hamilton, calling it “absolutely suicidal.”

In an interview with TIME Magazine, Hamilton addressed the criticism head-on. “I’ve always welcomed the negativity,” he stated. “I never, ever reply to any of the older, ultimately, white men who have commented on my career and what they think I should be doing. How you show up, how you present yourself, how you perform slowly dispels that.”

Determined to silence his critics, Hamilton has dedicated himself to rigorous training in the off-season. He has been actively preparing for the new F1 season with extensive fitness work and multiple TPC (testing of previous cars) sessions in Fiorano and Barcelona. His commitment was evident during pre-season testing, where he was the first to arrive at the paddock and remained at the Ferrari garage until late into the night.
