Luke Littler Confident Ahead of Nottingham Premier League Clash: “Best I’ve Ever Played”
World champion Luke Littler believes he is currently playing the best darts of his young career, as he continues his impressive form in 2025.
The 18-year-old sensation has built on his historic World Championship victory at Alexandra Palace by adding the UK Open title, two Premier League weekly wins, and the Belgian Open to his growing collection.
Now, as he prepares for another Premier League showdown in Nottingham on Thursday, Littler is riding high after a stunning performance at Tuesday’s Players Championship event in Leicester, where he hit a nine-dart finish and averaged an incredible 122 in a single match.
“I’ve always been confident in my own ability,” Littler said.
“The way my darts are going at the minute, it’s probably the best I’ve ever played on a consistent basis. That is why I can find those extra gears and dig myself out of trouble when I need to.”
Despite his success, Littler is keeping things in perspective, reiterating that his World Championship title remains his biggest achievement.
“I said at the start of the year if I don’t win anything all year, I’m still a world champion, and I’m just enjoying my darts at the minute.”
Littler vs. Humphries: A Premier League Blockbuster
Littler faces a huge test on Thursday as he goes up against his biggest rival, Luke Humphries, in the quarter-finals.
The two have met 16 times, with Littler holding a 9-7 advantage, including a victory in last year’s Premier League final.
Humphries, the current world No.1, has had an up-and-down start to the year but showed his class by hitting a nine-darter on the way to the Players Championship 6 final on Wednesday. He has also been consistent in the Premier League, sitting at the top of the table after five nights.
“I’m in a good position, but I’m still going to have to work hard to pick up these wins,” Humphries said.
“I’ve got Luke this week, and then Michael (van Gerwen) in the quarter-finals next week. It’s going to be tough, but I know I’ve got the credentials to beat them both.”
Gian van Veen Breaks Through
Humphries suffered a setback in Leicester on Wednesday, losing to Gian van Veen, who secured his first-ever PDC ranking title after falling short in Tuesday’s final.
As the Premier League action heads to Nottingham, all eyes will be on Littler and Humphries, two of the biggest names in the sport, as they battle for supremacy in a high-stakes quarter-final showdown.
