Luke Littler makes feelings clear after losing temper during Gerwyn Price Premier League defeat
Luke Littler stormed off the stage in frustration at Premier League Darts in Dublin, hurling his darts case down the stairs after a tough loss to Gerwyn Price.
Sky Sports cameras captured the teenage sensation’s rare outburst following his first-round exit on night three of the competition. Littler, visibly frustrated throughout the match, was defeated 6-4 by Price, who later won the night’s event. Despite averaging close to a ton, the world No. 2 was unable to turn the game in his favor.
Tensions with the Dublin crowd surfaced when Littler sarcastically told spectators to calm down after they reacted to his hesitation before an outshot attempt.
After the match, he took to Instagram to address his 1.8 million followers with a composed response.
“Not the way I wanted to follow up the win last week, but loads more darts to play starting with Premier League and UK Open next week,” he wrote, adding, “Appreciate everyone who came out to support tonight.”
Price, however, had a different take on the crowd’s behavior, viewing it as a positive change from what he typically experiences.
“For me, it was amazing, but I guess the likes of Luke Littler today probably feel differently,” said the Welshman.
“I’ve been dealing with that everywhere I go for the last six years. I’m sure Luke and the rest of the boys will have plenty of support throughout the rest of the Premier League,” he added.
