Luke Littler’s Net Worth Set to Soar After Major PDC Prize Money Boost
Luke Littler’s meteoric rise in the world of darts is set to be even more lucrative, as the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) has announced a record-breaking prize money increase.
The 18-year-old, who won his first Sid Waddell Trophy in January, could take home a staggering £1 million if he defends his PDC World Darts Championship title in 2026—double the amount he earned for his 2025 victory.
This comes after the PDC revealed that the total prize pool for the World Championship will increase to £5 million, with overall prize money across all PDC events skyrocketing from £7 million to £25 million—a 150% rise. Major tournaments such as the World Grand Prix, Players Championship Finals, European Championship, UK Open, and World Series of Darts will all see substantial boosts.
In addition to the financial surge, the World Championship will expand to include 128 players for the first time, up from 96. This expansion aligns with the PDC’s recently signed £125 million TV rights deal with Sky Sports, reflecting the sport’s growing popularity—an increase largely driven by Littler’s rapid success.
PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter highlighted the significance of the changes:
“The £1m prize for the World Champion reflects darts’ status as one of the most exciting sports globally. This increase, alongside expanded tournament fields, will provide more opportunities than ever for players to compete at the highest level.”
Littler’s career has been nothing short of remarkable. After finishing as the runner-up in his debut World Championship in 2024, he went on to claim titles in the Premier League, Grand Slam, and World Series. His breakthrough victory at Alexandra Palace in January—where he defeated Michael van Gerwen in the final—cemented his status as a top player.
Since then, Littler has continued his dominance, winning the UK Open and making a strong start in the Premier League, securing 26 points in the first eight weeks.
Having already earned over £1 million on the PDC circuit, Littler’s earnings are expected to soar even further as he continues his impressive form in an increasingly lucrative sport.
