Luke Littler’s Advice to Stephen Bunting Amid Premier League Darts Struggles

Stephen Bunting is enduring a tough Premier League Darts campaign, having yet to secure a victory in 2025. The Liverpudlian suffered another defeat on Thursday in Newcastle, with reigning world champion Luke Littler delivering a decisive 6-0 whitewash.

With half the season already completed, Bunting remains at the bottom of the table, winless and without a single point. If he fails to defeat Nathan Aspinall next Thursday in Berlin, he will match Peter Wright’s record of 13 consecutive losses, set between 2019 and 2020.

Following their match, Littler offered Bunting some words of encouragement and advice, urging him to ease the pressure he places on himself.

“Obviously, Steve’s struggling at the minute,” Littler said. “Once he gets that first win, I’m sure he’ll win quite a few in the Premier League. We’re halfway through now, and I think he said last week that he’s putting too much pressure on himself.

“Without a win in eight weeks, if I was Stephen now, I’d just relax. I’d say, ‘Come on, just win that first game.’ Once he gets that winning feeling, I think he could go on to win a night.”

Littler, just 18 years old, currently leads the table by a staggering 26 points, having won four of the eight nights so far. Meanwhile, Bunting has faced criticism for his performances but remains optimistic, expressing gratitude for fan support.

After receiving messages of encouragement on social media, Bunting responded, “Thank you, much appreciated. I stay away from negative comments because I know they are there. I’m proud to be part of the Premier League. I’m proud of how far I’ve come since the days I considered quitting. To be on the verge of moving to No. 4 in the world is amazing. I’ll never give up and will always give 110 percent to achieve my goals.”

As Bunting looks ahead to Berlin, he hopes to turn his fortunes around and avoid making unwanted history in the Premier League.
