Luke Littler has revealed that a pint was hurled at Nathan Aspinall during their Premier League darts final showdown.
The 18-year-old Littler recovered from his loss to Luke Humphries the previous week, clinching victory on the night in Brighton. The Nuke displayed his skill in the final, which capped off an evening highlighted by two nine-darters—one from Humphries and another from Rob Cross.
However, the match was overshadowed before it even began when a spectator doused Aspinall with beer during his entrance. Sky Sports’ cameras missed the incident, but The Asp was spotted in a prolonged discussion with Huw Ware prior to Littler’s walk-on.
“I think someone chucked a pint at Nathan the moment he stepped on stage. Absolute madness,” Littler remarked.
Separately, during Aspinall’s semi-final, he was seen locking eyes with a crowd member in an intense stare-down.
Littler commented further, “We all know how it goes—some fans are great, some are a bit rough. That’s darts crowds for you, either brilliant or a hassle.”
Premier League officials have pledged to crack down on “inappropriate” conduct by ejecting disruptive fans from venues. Following night two in Glasgow, they issued a statement: “The PDC firmly states that it will not tolerate behavior that disrupts events, such as whistling or booing during throws. Per our entry terms, spectators acting out of line may be removed. The PDC collaborates closely with Premier League venues, who oversee crowd management, to act swiftly and decisively against those crossing the line.”
