Luke Littler Addresses Rivalry with Gerwyn Price After Premier League Darts Victory

Luke Littler has opened up about his ongoing battles with Gerwyn Price after securing his fourth Premier League Darts night win of the season in Newcastle.

The reigning world champion was in dominant form, dropping just four legs across matches against Stephen Bunting, Rob Cross, and Luke Humphries, extending his lead at the top of the table. He now holds a 14-point cushion over fifth-placed Cross, bringing him closer to securing a spot at Finals Night at the O2 Arena.

Littler’s Dominance Continues—Except Against Price

Littler’s most commanding win came in a 6-0 whitewash of Bunting, where he averaged 109, hit five 180s, and recorded a 50% checkout success rate. Despite Bunting’s impressive 102 average, he only had four attempts at doubles, extending his winless run in the competition.

However, while Littler has been nearly unstoppable this season, Gerwyn Price remains the one opponent he has yet to defeat in 2025. The Welshman has beaten Littler in all four of their meetings this year, including two Premier League clashes and a 6-2 victory at the Bahrain Darts Masters, where he posted a staggering 115 average.

Fortunately for Littler, he avoided another showdown with Price on Thursday, as the 2021 Premier League champion suffered a surprise 6-2 defeat to Rob Cross in the quarter-finals.

Littler Responds to Winless Streak Against Price

After his latest triumph, Littler addressed his struggles against Price in an interview with Sky Sports, stating:

“As a player, you should always be playing against the board. But I’m playing too well for them not to be playing against the board as well as me. I’ve got a few of them—just not Gezzy!”

Sky Sports commentator Wayne Mardle weighed in, suggesting that Price may have a mental edge over Littler, saying:

“Gezzy’s maybe a little bit in his head. He can’t seem to get the better of him, can he? I don’t believe any player just plays the board. He’s 18, he’ll learn! Joking aside, a lot of players are really concerned with what Littler can do to them, and he’s annihilating most of them.”

What’s Next for Littler?

With Finals Night on the horizon, Littler will be looking to overcome his Price problem and cement his dominance in the competition. If his performances so far are anything to go by, it’s only a matter of time before he breaks his losing streak against the Welshman.
