Luke Littler Criticizes Premier League Darts Schedule After Dominant Win Over Humphries

Luke Littler made his frustrations with the Premier League Darts schedule clear after securing his fourth nightly victory of the 2025 competition. Despite not being at his best, The Nuke powered through wins against Stephen Bunting, Rob Cross, and Luke Humphries to claim victory in Newcastle.

A Demanding Schedule

Littler’s triumph extended his lead at the top of the standings to eight points, making his place in the playoffs all but guaranteed. However, his post-match comments stole the spotlight, as he openly criticized the grueling schedule following his emphatic 6-1 win over Humphries.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Littler said, “I told Luke [Humphries], I don’t even know how we played that game—we were both exhausted. Playing three matches in one night takes its toll, but I’m just glad I managed to push through.”

Despite the fatigue, Littler acknowledged his drive to win, saying, “That winning feeling keeps me going. Even after the first game tonight against Bunting, I could relax a little and focus on the semis and final. Coming up the stairs, I was drained, but in the end, it’s another trophy and two more points on the board.”

Dominance Over Humphries

This latest victory adds to Littler’s growing dominance over Humphries, having won three of their four encounters in this year’s Premier League. When asked whether he has Cool Hand Humphries’ number, Littler responded, “As a player, you shouldn’t be focusing on your opponent—you should be playing against the board. But when you’re playing well, it forces them to step up too… just not Gezzy [Gerwyn Price],” referencing Price’s unbeaten record against him.

Premier League Darts Heats Up

Elsewhere in Newcastle, Bunting’s struggles continued as he remains winless and stuck at the bottom of the standings. Humphries managed a victory against Chris Dobey, while Nathan Aspinall edged out Michael van Gerwen in an 11-leg thriller to keep his playoff hopes alive.

The action continues next week in Berlin for Night Nine of the Premier League.
