Luke Littler tells darts fans to ‘watch out’ as vultures circle trying to capitalise on 18-year-old’s fame
Luke Littler Warns Fans About Fake Accounts Ahead of Premier League Clash
Luke Littler has issued a warning to fans about fake social media accounts impersonating him as he prepares for night four of the Premier League in Exeter on Thursday.
The 18-year-old darts sensation, who has rapidly become one of the sport’s biggest stars, took to Instagram to alert his followers about fraudulent profiles attempting to deceive people in his name.
Littler Exposes Fake Snapchat Account
Littler shared a screenshot of a fake Snapchat account, urging fans to be cautious.
“Fake Snapchat account going round of me so just watch out people,” he wrote. “Funny enough, the account has blocked me, but yeah, watch out people.”
In a follow-up post, he revealed that the impersonators had already changed the account name and called on his supporters to report the profile.
The Downsides of Fame
While Littler has earned around £1.5 million in prize money over the past year, he has also faced challenges that come with his rapid rise to stardom.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, he admitted he’s been inundated with messages from people he believes are only interested in his money.
“I have had a few requests from girls to meet up, but I generally don’t reply,” he said.
“It’s just people looking at me and the money I am making, and they want part of that.”
Littler also shared advice from his parents, who urged him to stay close to his longtime friends rather than let new people into his circle too quickly.
“My mum and dad told me to keep the friends I have. Give it a few years, and I may meet someone along the way.”
He added that his childhood friends are all working hard in their own careers, pursuing apprenticeships, retail jobs, and trades like plumbing and electrics.
Security Measures and Premier League Preparations
As Littler’s fame continues to grow, reports suggest he has even hired a bodyguard to protect himself from overzealous fans.
Meanwhile, the teenage star is fully focused on his next Premier League match against Stephen Bunting on Thursday night in Exeter.
Littler is aiming to bounce back after a defeat to Gerwyn Price last week, which saw the Welshman go on to win night three of the Premier League by beating Nathan Aspinall in the final.
With a major spotlight on him, Littler is learning to navigate the highs and lows of fame, both on and off the oche.
