Newcastle United Set to Be Offered Jack Grealish Transfer Opportunity
Newcastle United will reportedly have the chance to sign Manchester City star Jack Grealish when the 2025 summer transfer window opens.
The England international has struggled for regular game time under Pep Guardiola, making just six Premier League starts this season. With less than two years remaining on his current contract, Grealish’s representatives are already exploring potential destinations for his next move, according to Chronicle Live.
Manchester City are said to be open to selling the 29-year-old, and Newcastle are expected to be among the clubs offered his services.
Newcastle, Aston Villa Among Potential Destinations
Eddie Howe’s side already have Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes as left-wing options, but Grealish is also comfortable in an attacking midfield role—where he thrived at Aston Villa.
Villa have also been linked with a move to bring Grealish back to Villa Park, though their pursuit could depend on whether they finalize a permanent deal for Marcus Rashford, who is expected to join them on loan from Manchester United.
Pep Guardiola on Grealish’s Struggles
When asked about Grealish’s limited game time this season, Guardiola admitted in January that the winger needs to prove himself in training.
“Do I want the Jack that won the Treble? Yeah, I want it, but I try to be honest with myself.
They have to fight. You can say it’s unfair, but you have to prove [to me], ‘OK, I’m going to fight to deserve to play in that position’ every single day, every single week, and every single month.”
Despite Grealish’s struggles, Guardiola remains confident in his quality and potential. However, with Manchester City willing to offload him, his future at the Etihad looks increasingly uncertain.
