Jack Grealish Could Be on the Move This Summer as Man City Eyes Changes

Manchester City winger Jack Grealish may be set for a summer departure as he finds himself slipping down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola. The 29-year-old has struggled for game time in 2025, prompting speculation about his future.

Man City’s Struggles & Summer Plans

City have had a difficult 2024-25 season, fighting for a top-four finish rather than competing for the title. With potential squad reshuffles on the horizon, the club may look to offload some of their high earners, including Grealish.

Since arriving from Aston Villa for £100 million in 2021, Grealish has played a key role in City’s success, winning three Premier League titles, the FA Cup, and the Champions League. However, his importance in the squad has diminished, and he has barely featured in 2025.

Interest from AC Milan & Newcastle United

According to reports from the Sunday Mirror, AC Milan—who currently have Kyle Walker on loan—are interested in a loan move with an option to buy. They would also consider a £40 million permanent deal, a fee City are reportedly willing to accept.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United have also emerged as a possible destination. The Chronicle recently claimed that sources close to Grealish have indicated that he is open to a move to St James’ Park, believing that Eddie Howe’s coaching could help him rediscover his best form ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Should Grealish Leave Man City?

Former City midfielder Didi Hamann believes Grealish’s future hinges on Guardiola’s plans.

“If Guardiola stays, I think Grealish will go. If the manager were to leave, there might be a chance for him to stay,” said Hamann.

With his contract running until 2027, City may seek a decent transfer fee, but Grealish could need to reduce his £300k-per-week wages to secure a move to another Premier League club or a top European side.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Grealish’s next move will be one to watch.
