Alex De Minaur Advances to Miami Open Third Round with Win Over Bu Yunchaokete
Miami, March 23, 2025 – Alex De Minaur, the No. 10 seed, secured his spot in the third round of the Miami Open with a straight-sets victory over Bu Yunchaokete, defeating the Chinese player 6-4, 6-4 at the Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday.
Ranked No. 11 in the world, the Australian will now face Brazilian rising star Joao Fonseca in his next match. Fonseca, who impressed in his second-round victory over Ugo Humbert (6-4, 6-3), will look to continue his strong run against De Minaur.
Bu Yunchaokete, ranked No. 69, had previously eliminated Cameron Norrie in the opening round with a 6-4, 6-2 win but couldn’t maintain his momentum against the higher-seeded De Minaur.
