Michael van Gerwen cheekily trolls Luke Littler by stealing his celebration – but immediately regrets it
Michael van Gerwen cheekily mocked Luke Littler by copying his famous “Big Fish” celebration — only to have it thrown straight back at him moments later.
The two stars clashed in the semi-finals as the Premier League Darts rolled into Dublin for Night 7.
With Van Gerwen holding a narrow 4-3 lead, both players had chances to take out a “Big Fish” 170 checkout in the eighth leg.
After Littler just missed the bullseye, Van Gerwen stepped in and nailed it to move 5-3 ahead.
Clearly enjoying the moment, the Dutchman celebrated by mimicking reeling in a fish — a trademark move often associated with Littler.
The teenage world champion took the joke in good spirits, laughing it off before taking a sip of water.
But the moment would come back to haunt Van Gerwen.
Two legs later, Littler found himself on a 170 finish again — and this time, he made no mistake, pinning the bullseye to level the match at 5-5.
He immediately turned to Van Gerwen and performed the same “Big Fish” celebration right back at him.
The three-time world champion could only laugh, clearly amused as the crowd enjoyed the playful exchange.
With momentum now on his side, Littler edged a thrilling contest 6-5 to book his place in the final.
There, he faced Gerwyn Price, who had been in dominant form throughout the night.
Price whitewashed Josh Rock 6-0 in the quarter-finals before cruising past Luke Humphries 6-1 in the semi-finals.
The Welshman looked set to claim the Night 7 title after storming into a 5-0 lead in the final.
But in a stunning turnaround, Littler produced an incredible comeback, winning six straight legs to seal a dramatic 6-5 victory and cap off a memorable night in Dublin.
