Rising tennis star Mirra Andreeva has become the target of horrific online abuse after her impressive win streak was snapped with a Miami Open 2025 exit. Despite her strong performances in recent tournaments, the young Russian player was met with harsh criticism following her defeat.
In response to the negativity, Andreeva shared her frustration, commenting: “And this is what you get when you lose one match.”
Andreeva’s Approach to Online Negativity
Before the Miami Open, Andreeva had already spoken about her strategy for dealing with online backlash. “I just kind of stay off social media, so I don’t really see what people are talking about,” she stated (via MSN).
She acknowledged that while she occasionally comes across negative messages, she relies on her support system to help her stay focused. “Sometimes, when it happens and I see a lot of messages or comments, I just remind myself that I have a great team around me. They help me block it out and spend quality time away from all the noise.”
