Judy Murray was notably quick to react to Raducanu’s withdrawal on social media, posting a terse comment: “Yes, astonishing.”
In a recent Instagram post celebrating her first-round win against Elise Mertens at the WTA 500 event, Raducanu captioned her photos with “Nightcrawler #stateside.” Frances Tiafoe, also competing in the event, commented, “Mixed….. @emmaraducanu,” seemingly inquiring if Raducanu would consider playing mixed doubles with him.
Raducanu’s response to Tiafoe’s comment, “Astonishing (laughing emoji),” appeared to mock Judy Murray’s earlier remark, adding fuel to the ongoing debate.
