Kyrgios Continues Feud With Jannik Sinner Over Doping Scandal
Kyrgios has been at odds with World No. 1 Jannik Sinner for quite some time, but the feud escalated when the Italian tested positive for Clostebol in March 2024. The Aussie has relentlessly criticized him in interviews and on social media, refusing to let the issue fade.
Reports suggest Sinner could face a one-year ban, and Kyrgios has used every opportunity to reinforce his anti-doping position. Recently, he reacted to the growing number of doping cases in tennis, once again calling out the system’s inconsistencies.
After news broke that ATP World No. 245 Gonçalo Oliveira had been suspended for methamphetamine use, Kyrgios shared the update on his Instagram story, writing:
“Steroids are fine but this is wild! Tennis world gone mad.”
Sinner is scheduled to appear before the Court of Arbitration for Sport on April 16-17, where the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) will appeal his case. If found guilty, he could face a one-to-two-year ban.
Kyrgios Trolls Sinner Over YouTube Venture Amid Doping Controversy
The tennis community was surprised when Jannik Sinner launched his own YouTube channel, showcasing behind-the-scenes footage of his latest Australian Open victory. While many fans celebrated the new venture, Kyrgios seized the moment to take another jab at the Italian.
On February 1, 2025, Sinner uploaded an eight-minute vlog titled:
“Winning My Second Australian Open Title!”
However, Kyrgios wasted no time in throwing shade, posting on social media:
“Can he give us a behind-the-scenes of what happened a year ago? Asking for a friend.”
The Australian, who suffered an early exit from the Australian Open, had hoped for a showdown with Sinner on the court. As the season unfolds, tennis fans eagerly await a potential on-court clash between the two rivals.
