Nick Kyrgios has come up with two bright ideas to improve Wimbledon and tennis’ other Grand Slam tournaments. He wants ATP bosses to consider implementing rule changes with the aim of enhancing the viewing experience for tennis fans.
The first change Kyrgios wants to see is reducing the number of sets at Grand Slam events from five to three until the quarter-finals. He explained it would bring about more upsets and a greater degree of uncertainty for top players, encouraging more casual viewers to tune in.
In an interview on the Australian Open website, Kyrgios said: “I think matches should be best of three sets up to the quarter-finals, and from there, best of five. That’s what I would immediately change in the Grand Slams.
