But the Welshman managed to maintain his composure on the oche by reaching the final in Wieze before losing to Luke Humphries.

British stars have been unable to use EU passport e-gates and are instead forced into long queues for manual checks, causing major delays.

Clayton has warned he will not tolerate the situation if it carries on.

He said: “It might be a serious conversation because at the end of the day I ain’t standing in queues for nothing.

“Two-hour queues — no chance, no way. I am a miserable git anyway. Hopefully it gets better, if it does, you will see a lot more of me.

“If it don’t, you ain’t going to see me. That is life.”

World No.5 Clayton has been in red-hot form in the Premier League, sitting second in the table after picking up two nightly victories.

Clayton led the way for much of the campaign but was eventually knocked off top spot by Luke Littler, who stormed to his third nightly title of the tournament.

The four-time major winner insists he is not concerned with anyone else, focusing solely on his own game.

He added: “I just think about my game. I don’t really care about anybody else, to be honest with you. I just want to be there on Finals Night.

“I have to find a way of doing something to get there. That is the name of the game. I have been there before, I know what to do.

“I need to be there in Week 17 and that’s all I care about. I don’t care about any other player.”

Clayton returns to action on Night Nine of the major tournament in Manchester and will face Josh Rock.
