Djokovic Opens Up About Recent Struggles

Speaking after the match, Djokovic admitted that he has been struggling to maintain his top level in ATP tournaments.

“Things have been different for me the last couple of years,” he said. “I’ve been struggling to play at the desired level. I guess nothing can prepare you for that moment. You have to experience it and try to deal with it in the best possible way.”

Reflecting on the decisive third set, Djokovic acknowledged his mistakes but also credited Van de Zandschulp for stepping up in key moments.

“The first three or four games of the third set were quite close. I had my chances but made some awful mistakes. When I reflect on this match, I’ll see what I could have done better. But he played some really good points to break my serve. I shouldn’t have put myself in that position,” he admitted.

With this latest setback, Djokovic will look to regroup and find his form as the tour moves toward the clay-court season.
