Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Iga Swiatek recently wrote a letter to the Grand Slam organizers, expressing their concerns and hopes regarding prize money distribution and player representation in decision-making.

Djokovic addressed the letter, stating, “I think the general sentiment is that players believe we should be getting prize money closer to the average percentage we receive on the ATP Tour.” He emphasized the importance of having the Grand Slam committees engage with players directly, stating that they should be involved in discussions when major changes or decisions are being made.

Djokovic further added, “We hope that the Grand Slams will respond positively and be open to having us in the room to discuss revenue shares. It’s not just about prize money; players feel that they need a seat at the table for important decisions.”

In related news, Djokovic’s Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA), which he co-founded with Vasek Pospisil in 2019, recently filed a lawsuit against the ATP, WTA, ITIA, and ITF over governance and player rights.

This letter and ongoing discussions highlight the increasing efforts by top players to secure better conditions for athletes in the sport, especially when it comes to financial fairness and input in key decisions.
