Ons Jabeur has confirmed her next WTA tournament after being forced to retire from her last match at the Miami Open due to injury.

The Tunisian star, who struggled with knee issues last year, returned at the start of the 2025 season with mixed results, including reaching three quarter-finals. During the Miami Open, Jabeur practiced with Venus Williams and won her opening match against Katerina Siniakova. However, her next match ended in disappointment as she retired during her match against Jasmine Paolini, with Paolini helping Jabeur off the court due to injury.

A few days after her retirement, Jabeur took to social media to provide an update following a consultation with her doctor. She revealed that she had suffered a small muscle strain in her leg, but the good news was that it wasn’t serious, and she would be able to return to action in the coming weeks.

On March 24, 2025, Jabeur tweeted, “❤️🙏🏻,” letting her fans know that recovery was on track.

True to her word, Jabeur has confirmed that her next tournament will be the Stuttgart Open. She will replace Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova, who withdrew due to injury.

Along with Jabeur, last year’s runner-up Marta Kostyuk will also replace Paula Badosa in the draw. Both players will join a competitive field at the prestigious indoor clay court event in Stuttgart, which includes seven of the top 10 ranked players, such as Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, and Coco Gauff.

The Stuttgart Open is known for offering not only valuable points and prize money but also a new car to the winner, courtesy of the tournament sponsor, Porsche. Jabeur will be making her fourth consecutive appearance at the Stuttgart Open, with her best result coming in 2023 when she reached the semi-finals.

Elena Rybakina, the defending champion from 2024, has chosen not to defend her title, meaning she will lose 500 points and fall outside the top 10.
