Novak Djokovic is set to make his return to Indian Wells in March, as the organizers have confirmed his participation in the first Masters 1000 event of the season. This marks Djokovic’s second consecutive appearance in the California desert after missing the tournament from 2020 to 2023.

The five-time champion holds an impressive 51-10 record at Indian Wells, with his titles spanning from 2008 to 2016. He once dominated the event, securing three consecutive titles before experiencing a dip in results—winning just four of his last eight matches there. Now, the Serbian legend aims to rediscover his best form and claim his 41st Masters 1000 title, along with his milestone 100th ATP crown.

Overcoming Early-Season Challenges

Djokovic’s 2025 season began with a setback. After injuring his left leg in Melbourne, he returned to action in Doha but suffered a first-round loss to Matteo Berrettini, leaving the court limping. Despite concerns over his fitness, he is expected to be ready for Indian Wells, where he will look to improve upon last year’s performance.

In 2024, Djokovic made his first Indian Wells appearance in five years but struggled to find his rhythm. He defeated Aleksandar Vukic in his opening match to secure his 400th Masters 1000 victory but was then stunned by world No. 123 Luca Nardi in the third round. The young Italian outplayed Djokovic in key moments, securing a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 victory despite the Serbian winning one more point overall.

Aiming for a Strong Comeback

Now, Djokovic is determined to put his recent struggles behind him and make a deep run in Indian Wells for the first time since his 2016 title. With major milestones on the horizon, including his quest for another Masters 1000 crown and a historic 100th ATP title, he remains one of the biggest contenders in the draw.

As the season progresses, Djokovic is eager to build momentum and reclaim his place at the top. Following his gold medal triumph at the Olympics last summer, the 24-time Grand Slam champion is hungry for more success in what could be another defining year in his storied career.
