The microphones at Augusta National picked up some less-than-ideal language from a former Masters champion during the second round on Friday, and one popular golf influencer is commenting on the player’s conduct.
“The patrons at Augusta are unbelievably supportive and mild mannered,” said Paige Spiranac, referring to Zach Johnson’s outburst on Friday afternoon.
“You can’t find a more pleasant environment to play golf in. The fact ZJ said this proves he’s softer than baby poop. Such a bad look.”
Johnson may be a former champion at Augusta, but his time at the course in 2024 looks like it will be short-lived. He’s a few shots away from the projected cut of four-over as his round comes to an end.
Spiranac has been active on social media throughout the weekend, as she usually is during the four majors.
She posted a photo with some food from the course as well, saying that the peach ice cream sandwich was best item on offer.
Spiranac has shown her support for Bryson DeChambeau this weekend, who is among the leaders as the day winds down.
DeChambeau is surrounded by fellow former major winners like Collin Morikawa and Scottie Scheffler.
The field will shrink significantly after today’s cut is determined, leaving the best of the best to compete for the green jacket.
Tiger Woods, Jon Rahm, Phil Mickelson and Max Homa are among the names that will be involved over the weekend, as the golf world’s most prestigious major comes to an end.
Spiranac may not have liked Johnson’s conduct on the course, but it seems that her stay at Augusta this year will last a few days longer than his.
