Paula Badosa Reveals Dream Matchup with Retired Tennis Legend

Spanish tennis star Paula Badosa has revealed the one retired player she would love to face on the court. The 27-year-old, who recently withdrew from the Miami Open before her Round of 16 match due to a back injury, shared her thoughts during a Q&A session on X (formerly Twitter).

When asked by a fan which retired player she would like to compete against, Badosa didn’t hesitate to name former world No. 1 Maria Sharapova.

Sharapova, now 37, retired in 2020 after a decorated career that saw her claim five Grand Slam titles. Notably, she achieved the prestigious Career Grand Slam, winning a major on each surface.
