Manchester City have been dealing with a lot of injuries this season.

One player in particular that City have been without in recent weeks is Jack Grealish.

Since the start of the season, the 29-year-old has started six of the 10 matches he’s appeared in across all competitions, supplying two assists along the way.

Having not played since the club’s 2-1 win over Wolves at Molineux, the winger was recently included in the latest England squad for their upcoming Nations League fixtures next week.

With City taking on Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday for their final Premier League fixture before the November international break, Pep Guardiola found himself being asked about the Englishman’s current situation.

Guardiola answers Grealish question on England call-up

After being asked about Grealish’s inclusion in the England squad in his latest press conference, Guardiola said this was a question for Lee Carsley instead of him.

The City boss then confirmed Grealish would not be available for the Brighton match.

Guardiola’s response has raised more questions about Grealish

Last weekend, Guardiola said Grealish wouldn’t be fit enough to return to action for City until after the November international break.

Champions League 2 0 0 1 102
Carabao Cup 1 0 0 1 90

However, following the news of his inclusion in the latest England squad for their upcoming Nations League matches against Greece and Ireland, some City fans questioned if Grealish had a bigger problem behind the scenes at the club in terms of his relationship with the manager.

With Guardiola’s response about the winger’s call-up failing to make clear what the situation is, this will only raise more questions and speculation on the matter.

Either way, Guardiola’s main focus will be on seeing the players he has available to him put an end to their poor run of recent form and secure a much-needed win over Brighton on Saturday.
