Jack Grealish’s Future at Manchester City Under Scrutiny
Jack Grealish, Manchester City’s £100 million record signing, has enjoyed trophy success at the Etihad but is facing growing concerns over his form and goal contributions. With just two goals this season, questions have been raised about his impact and starting role in Pep Guardiola’s squad.
Former footballer Stan Collymore, speaking to GOAL, expressed doubts about Grealish’s place in a top Premier League side:
“Jack’s output is nowhere near the required level. He’s good, but not great. Last season, he scored just one goal in over a year. He doesn’t go past players like he used to, and when you compare him to Doku, it’s concerning.”
Potential Destinations: West Ham, Saudi Arabia, or a Fresh Start?
Collymore suggested that a move to West Ham could be more realistic due to their financial resources, but ruled out a return to Aston Villa, stating:
“I’m absolutely sure Unai Emery won’t be going anywhere near Jack Grealish. Great emotional story, but I don’t think it’s going to happen.”
He also raised the possibility of a Saudi Pro League move, doubting whether any of the Premier League’s top six would take him:
“Jack might end up going somewhere like Saudi. I’m struggling to see a top four, five, or six team that would take him. Wages and fee would be a problem for them.”
What’s Next for Grealish?
Despite being under contract until 2027, Grealish may seek a move to secure regular playing time, especially with the 2026 World Cup in mind. Collymore concluded:
“If Jack wants to get back to being the main man, he’ll have to find a fresh start, a new challenge. Whether he can do that in the Premier League, I’m not sure.”
With competition for places intensifying at Manchester City, the coming months could be pivotal in shaping Grealish’s future.
