Swiatek calls for fans to back Poland in the United Cup
Iga Swiatek confirmed a few days ago that she will participate in the United Cup, which begins on December 29 and marks the start of the 2025 season. The world No. 2 will once again team up with Hubert Hurkacz and shared the reasons why people should support Poland in the upcoming United Cup in Australia, where the Polish team will try to improve on last year’s result when they lost the final to Germany.
“We are a great country with great people. Both me, Hubi (Hurkacz), and other players on the team are, I think, great. So with your support, we’re going to be even greater,” commented the 5-time Grand Slam champion in a promotional video for the tournament. “We almost won last year, so there’s a great chance we’re going to win this year,” she added.
Swiatek will be the highest-ranked female player in the tournament due to Aryna Sabalenka’s absence. Additionally, Swiatek recently confirmed her participation in the Billie Jean King Cup, which could see her finish this year’s season between November 15 and 20. Swiatek would have just over a month to take a short break and begin preseason preparations before the first tournament of the next season.
