Taylor Fritz may be sidelined with injury at the moment, but off the court, his heart is full. The World No. 4 recently took to social media to celebrate a special moment — not for himself, but for his young son Jordan, who’s already making waves in sports.

Back in October, Fritz shared a lighthearted Instagram story showing the final score of a competitive indoor basketball game he played against Jordan. “I will just post this clip of the final score in my heartbreaking 21-19 loss to Jordan,” he wrote, poking fun at himself. Despite the loss, it was a cherished moment for the American No. 1, who rarely gets time off the tour to bond with his son. And now, it seems Jordan’s talents go well beyond the basketball court.

In a recent story, Fritz proudly posted a video of Jordan playing soccer on a muddy field, tallying two goals and an assist in a 4–1 win. “4-1, 2 goals 1 assist. Fritz sports dynasty loading 😂,” he wrote — a proud dad moment that suggests this might just be the beginning of something bigger.

Fritz became a father early, welcoming Jordan in January 2017 with then-wife and fellow tennis player Raquel Pedraza. Just 19 at the time, Fritz was still forging his own tennis path while learning the ropes of fatherhood. He has often credited Pedraza with helping him manage life on tour and at home, especially in those formative years.

“I definitely had to grow up fast, but it was always going to be like that anyway,” Fritz said in an interview with Haute Living in 2023. “I was traveling the world playing tennis at 17.”

Even through the chaos of professional sports, family has remained a grounding force for him. During last year’s holiday season, Fritz shared festive photos celebrating Christmas early with Jordan before heading to Australia. “Celebrating Christmas early every year before I have to go to AUS. Merry Christmas and happy holidays from the Fritz boys,” he wrote.

He’s also opened up about how the 2020 COVID lockdown, though disruptive, gave him a rare opportunity to step back. “I took about a month off to do nothing… I wasn’t playing tennis or working out. I was just with my son, sleeping in, and playing video games,” he told Interview Magazine.

While Jordan soaks up the spotlight, his father is focused on recovery. After a solid run in Miami, where Fritz reached the semifinals before falling to breakout star Jakub Mensik, he announced his withdrawal from the 2025 Monte-Carlo Masters due to an abdominal injury.

Still, he’s been keeping spirits high at home, sharing videos of two black foster kittens he’s caring for during recovery — captioned affectionately as his “injury emotional support foster kitties.”

Fritz is expected to return to action at the Madrid Open later this April. As he works his way back to form, fans will be watching both father and son closely — one chasing titles on the ATP Tour, the other chasing goals on the soccer field.

Is the next Fritz sports star already on the rise? Time will tell. But for now, Taylor is just enjoying being Dad.
