Despite the major error, Van Gerwen managed to recover and still win the leg.

However, he ultimately fell to a 6-5 defeat against Littler in a dramatic encounter.

The Dutchman missed a match dart in the deciding leg, allowing the reigning world champion to complete a comeback from 5-3 down.

Both players also thrilled the Dublin crowd by landing “Big Fish” 170 checkouts during the match.

Van Gerwen struck first, but Littler later responded with one of his own — celebrating with his trademark gesture, which even drew laughter from his opponent.

The victory sent Littler through to the final, where he faced Gerwyn Price.

Incredibly, the teenager produced another stunning turnaround, recovering from 5-0 down to beat the Welshman 6-5 and claim the Night 7 title.
