Emma Raducanu, British No. 1, expressed relief and confidence in Wimbledon’s security measures after a man who stalked her was blocked from purchasing tickets to the Championships, starting June 30. Speaking to BBC Sport, Raducanu said, “Wimbledon did an amazing job. I got a notification and the police contacted me and assured me that everything was OK. I feel OK, I feel comfortable and safe,” per BBC Sport. The All England Club’s security system flagged the man’s name in the public ballot, following a restraining order issued by Dubai police in February 2025 for stalking Raducanu across tournaments in Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Dubai, per The Guardian.

The 22-year-old, who broke down in tears during a Dubai match against Karolina Muchova after spotting the man, noted enhanced protection, stating, “I’ve had great protection whenever I’ve been at these events recently. I feel a difference and that makes me feel more comfortable,” per The Herald. Wimbledon’s measures, including fixated threat specialists and CCTV sweeps, were praised by Raducanu, who also commended compatriot Katie Boulter for addressing online abuse, per Sky Sports. Preparing for the Eastbourne Open, Raducanu feels secure, bolstered by lessons learned from a prior 2022 stalking incident, per BBC Sport.
