Jasmine Paolini Splits with Coach Renzo Furlan After 10 Years

The ATP and WTA Tours have seen significant coaching changes in recent months, but few have been as surprising as Jasmine Paolini’s split from Renzo Furlan after a decade together.

This announcement follows other high-profile coaching shifts, including Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray’s unexpected partnership and Andrey Rublev’s decision to bring in Marat Safin as a mentor.

Paolini and Furlan End a Successful Partnership

Paolini enjoyed a breakthrough 2024 season, reaching Grand Slam finals at Roland Garros and Wimbledon—a feat she achieved under the guidance of longtime coach Renzo Furlan.

Furlan, who had worked with Paolini since 2015 and became her full-time coach in 2020, played a pivotal role in her rise. His efforts were recognized when he was named WTA Coach of the Year in 2024.

Despite their success, Paolini confirmed their split in an emotional Instagram post, expressing gratitude for Furlan’s mentorship.

Paolini: “After 10 amazing years together, I want to say a huge thank you to Renzo Furlan for everything he’s done for me.”

“We’ve been on an incredible journey, shared unforgettable moments, including an amazing 2024 season with finals at Wimbledon and Roland Garros, and Olympic gold in Paris. Even in 2025, we started strong.”

“Renzo has been such an important part of my growth, both as a player and as a person. Everything I’ve learned from him will stay with me and continue to guide me in this new chapter. He’ll always be an important person in my life.”

What’s Next for Paolini?

While Paolini has not yet announced a new coach, she remains focused on the clay court season, where she has 1,538 ranking points to defend32% of her total points—after last year’s Roland Garros final run.

Her upcoming schedule includes:
WTA 500 Stuttgart
WTA 1000 Madrid
WTA 1000 Rome (her home tournament in Italy)

Paolini will be looking to build momentum heading into Roland Garros, where she hopes to replicate last year’s success.
