Tense Restaurant Encounter: Man Tries to Remove Aryna Sabalenka from Her Table
Fresh off her Miami Open victory, Aryna Sabalenka celebrated her title with her boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, and her team at a restaurant in Miami. However, their evening took an unexpected turn when an annoyed diner demanded they vacate their table.
The World No. 1 was in high spirits after clinching her eighth WTA 1000 title, securing her first Miami Open trophy with a win over Jessica Pegula. Sabalenka’s triumph came after back-to-back final losses at the Australian Open and Indian Wells, making this victory even sweeter.
A Heated Exchange at the Restaurant
While enjoying their meal, the group was confronted by a man who insisted that Sabalenka and her team leave the table, claiming he had been waiting for it. The tense exchange was captured in a video shared by the “Sabanewsss” X account.
“Guys, I’m not trying to be rude, but we were here first, and other people are waiting for this table,” the frustrated man stated.
Jason Stacy, a member of Sabalenka’s team, responded casually: “That is too bad, I guess.”
Sabalenka’s boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, then intervened:
“Do you even know who you’re talking to? Do you know that she’s basically the queen of Miami?”
Stacy added: “Number one tennis player of the year.” Meanwhile, Sabalenka simply smiled awkwardly.
Unfazed, the man doubled down:
“I don’t care who it is! I also have a table, and I’m just asking if you guys can speed it up. I know the owner, and he can come out and get this table.”
A restaurant employee eventually stepped in, attempting to diffuse the situation. As the man walked away, Sabalenka lightheartedly offered him a plate of food, joking: “Have a snack, bro.”
