Tottenham Hotspur suffered yet another defeat in their final game before an international break this season.

After putting together victories against Manchester City and Aston Villa, Tottenham went into the break with back to back losses.

Ange Postecoglou’s heavily rotated side for the game against Galatasaray counted for nothing after a struggling Ipswich Town secured their first win of the season in north London.

Postecoglou’s record is not a great deal better than Nuno Espirito Santo’s was at Tottenham before he got the sack with Spurs slumped down in 10th spot currently.

The Lilywhites do not look to have made any progress over the summer despite a considerable amount of money having been spent.

More money could potentially be spent in the January transfer window but Tottenham may already have hit one issue with one of their reported targets in Jack Grealish

Tottenham hit major Jack Grealish transfer problem

It has been reported that Tottenham have held talks with Jack Grealish’s agents over a potential move to north London.

According to GiveMeSport, Tottenham may already be set to receive a significant blow in their interest in Manchester City’s Grealish.

It is claimed the England international is not considering his time at the reigning Premier League champions as over.

And the mood inside the club is said to be similar with City not yet actively looking to offload Grealish just yet.

2024/25 Appearance Minutes
Premier League 7 347
Carabao Cup 1 90
Champions League 2 102

However, with his game time clearly not where he would like it to be, it would be interesting to see where Grealish stood if a side like Spurs came in for him.

The Manchester City winger has spoken positively about Tottenham in the past with Grealish hailing Heung-min Son as better than Bayern Munich legend Franck Ribery.

Jack Grealish loves Ange Postecoglou’s style of play

Although Spurs may find themselves in a rut, Postecoglou’s side have become known for their attack-minded style of football.

And it is something which has been noticed by the City winger with Grealish hailing Postecoglou as ‘unbelievable’ back in December 2023.

“I think a lot of people like to talk about City and go on like it’s a big crisis whereas in reality we have played against very good teams,” said Grealish.

“We have played Spurs, who have been unbelievable. Liverpool who are top of the league.”

Tottenham are not renewing Heung-min Son’s contract as they look to just trigger his 12-month extension.

This creates a potential demand for a new left-winger for the long-term with Mikey Moore not quite enough to replace Son on his own just yet.
