What’s now being said about Arsenal potentially making a move for Jack Grealish
Jack Grealish’s Future in Doubt as Arsenal Rumors Swirl
Could Jack Grealish be on the move this summer? The Manchester City star’s future appears uncertain, with speculation mounting that he could be offloaded—and a potential switch to Arsenal is now being discussed.
Grealish’s Struggles at Manchester City
The 29-year-old winger has endured a disappointing 2024/25 season, managing just two goals and five assists in 26 appearances across all competitions. His struggles have seen him fall out of favor with Pep Guardiola, having been left as an unused substitute in four of City’s last six matches.
Just four years after his record-breaking £100 million move from Aston Villa, Grealish could be on his way out. With the summer transfer window approaching, clubs are monitoring his situation, and reports suggest Arsenal could emerge as a potential destination.
Journalist Ben Jacobs Weighs In
Speaking on Highbury Squad on YouTube, journalist Ben Jacobs was asked about the possibility of Grealish joining Mikel Arteta’s side and how much Manchester City might demand for the England international, who was recently left out of Thomas Tuchel’s squad.
“I think Jack Grealish has a massive decision to make because he’s heading into a World Cup year, and it feels like he’s very distant from Thomas Tuchel’s plans,” Jacobs said.
Jacobs also noted that, despite Grealish’s limited game time, Guardiola remains a big believer in his talent and has not actively pushed for his departure.
“Pep Guardiola, ironically, is actually the driving force in keeping Grealish, even though he isn’t starting him regularly,” Jacobs explained.
However, he admitted that a summer transfer could be on the cards.
“There’s nothing concrete yet linking Arsenal to Grealish, but as you rightly say, there might be a deal there to be had. And I would guess Manchester City would value him in the £45 million range, similar to Raheem Sterling’s move to Chelsea.”
John Terry Urges Grealish to Leave City
Among those pushing for Grealish to consider his options is John Terry, who believes the winger is at his best when playing regularly.
“He’s at his best playing week-in, week-out, dominating. He’s one of those players who can get at defenders and drive teams forward,” Terry said.
“He needs to start playing and look at his options. Man City haven’t been great this year, and he’s still not getting a look in. If I were him, I’d be thinking, ‘I need to get out.’”
What’s Next for Grealish?
Grealish faces a crucial decision this summer. While Guardiola remains supportive, the reality of his season suggests that a move away might be the best route for his career.
With Premier League clubs likely interested and potential overseas suitors, City may have to take a financial hit, accepting a fee much lower than the £100 million they originally paid for him.
For now, Manchester City are focused on their upcoming FA Cup clash against Bournemouth, but all eyes will be on Grealish’s future as the summer transfer window approaches.
