WATCH: Coco Gauff hosts her first-ever “Friendsgiving” in her own new house, months after giving “glory to God” for helping her achieving her dream

Earlier this year, Gauff disclosed her intention to move out of her parents’ house. At the time, she said while she plans to live independently, she will live in the same city as her parents—Delray Beach.

In October, Coco Gauff shared a few glimpses of her new house.

“Life update: bought a house a few months ago,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Cheers to being a homeowner at 20. All glory to God,” she added.

On Sunday, November 24, ahead of Thanksgiving festivities, Coco Gauff revealed that she threw a “Friendsgiving” party for her cousins. The World No. 3 delightedly showed off her food spread, which included self-made sweet potato pie. Gauff noted that all her guests contributed to the menu.

“My first time hosting ‘cousins/friendsgiving,’” she wrote on Instagram. “Everyone made something.”

“Made sweet potato pie for the first time,” she added. “Lol this is the only pic I have of it.”

“I’m just trying to learn how to cook” – Coco Gauff on her experience living alone

After a phenomenal 2023 season that saw her clinch four titles, including her maiden Major at the US Open, Coco Gauff scripted a rollercoaster 2024 campaign.

She didn’t enjoy much success during the first half after defending her ASB Classic title, but she made it count during the tail end of the season, winning the WTA 1000 title in Beijing and capping off her campaign with her maiden WTA Finals trophy in Riyadh.

During her run in Riyadh, the American also touched on her new home and her experience of living independently at such a young age.

“I just felt like this was a time for me to move out,” she said. “But I’m still in the same city as my parents, and my parents have a court at home, so I practise there still. So it feels somewhat the same.”

The 20-year-old had to learn new skills as a result. She said:

“Obviously, I’m living alone, so I’m just trying to learn how to cook more, something I never really had to do living with both parents who like to cook. So it’s been something that I’ve been experimenting with, and had some mostly successes, some failures.”

After spending the holiday season with a family in Florida, Coco Gauff is expected to kick off her 2025 campaign by representing the USA in her United Cup debut.
