Andrey Rublev has set a clear goal for the 2025 season: to elevate his performance to consistently challenge for Grand Slam titles and solidify his position among the top-tier players in the ATP rankings.
After a year marked by flashes of brilliance but overshadowed by concerns about his stamina and mental resilience during key matches, Rublev is determined to make 2025 a breakthrough year. Speaking to reporters during his offseason training, the Russian star acknowledged the need to improve his mental toughness and sustain a high level of play in critical moments.
“My main goal for 2025 is to win a Grand Slam,” Rublev stated. “I know I have the game to do it, but it’s about putting all the pieces together—physically, mentally, and strategically. I’ve learned a lot from this year’s challenges, and I’m ready to take the next step.”
Rublev, who finished the 2024 season ranked inside the top 10, has been working closely with his coaching team to address areas of concern. Despite reaching the latter stages of several tournaments, his inability to close out matches against higher-ranked opponents, including Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, was a recurring issue.
To combat this, Rublev has reportedly focused on improving his endurance and decision-making under pressure. He has also been studying the games of players who excel in high-stakes situations, seeking inspiration and strategies to enhance his approach.
Reflecting on the past season, Rublev admitted it was a mixed bag. “This year had its ups and downs, and there were moments where I felt I let opportunities slip away,” he said. “But those experiences only fuel my desire to come back stronger. I want to show everyone what I’m truly capable of.”
