Nick Kyrgios’ reaction to Jannik Sinner starting a YouTube channel has sparked criticism from several tennis fans. The Australian has taken multiple shots at Sinner ever since it was revealed last year that the Italian had tested positive for the banned substance Clostebol on two occasions.

A fan on X (formerly Twitter) recently questioned why it took the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) over five months to publicly announce Sinner’s positive tests for Clostebol.

“Jannik Sinner and his team were confident they would find the source of the contamination almost immediately. It could’ve been from food or one of the many supplements elite athletes take. But it took more than five months for his failed test to be made public?” the fan asked.

Kyrgios responded to the fan’s post, suggesting that Sinner’s new YouTube venture was an effort by his media team to maintain a positive image of the current World No. 1.

“He’s started a YouTube channel—hopefully, he has behind-the-scenes footage of what happened a year ago 😂. Media team is working overtime, mate—disgusting,” Kyrgios wrote.

This comment sparked backlash from many fans, who criticized Kyrgios for his continued remarks about Sinner.

“He’s salty because being a social media influencer is pretty much his only gig, and now Jannik is better at that too,” one fan wrote.

“He’s obsessed with Jannik, it’s kinda creepy,” another fan commented.

“You talk too much. Jannik’s going to keep winning, and the more the haters hate him, the more he’ll win and the more we, his fans, will enjoy! Keep going @janniksin,” another fan added.

“Everything you’ve brought out has failed. Your media team is still waiting for you to win a singles slam. You’re an egg. A pure embarrassment to Australian sport,” one fan opined.

Some fans also referenced Kyrgios’ past legal issues, specifically his guilty plea for physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Chiara Passari, with some offering sarcastic remarks.

“Any chance we’ll see behind the scenes of you assaulting your woman in your OnlyFans channel?” one fan asked.
“Not as disgusting as what you are accused of though, huh?” another fan questioned.

Just a few days earlier, Kyrgios had taken another swipe at Sinner during an exchange with a troll.

In late January 2025, a fan on X took a shot at Kyrgios for his poor start to the season. The Australian, who returned to action at the 2025 Brisbane International, suffered a first-round defeat to Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard at the ATP 250 event. He then lost in the first round of the 2025 Australian Open to British youngster Jacob Fearnley.

“BYE has won more matches than Nick Kyrgios in 2025,” the fan wrote.

Kyrgios responded by once again bringing up Sinner, writing: “Bye has failed fewer drug tests than Sinner.”

Kyrgios’ next on-court appearance will be at the 2025 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, while Sinner is scheduled to compete at the Qatar Open.
