Taylor Fritz makes candid admission about his style choices & occasionally ignoring fashionista girlfriend Morgan Riddle’s advice
Taylor Fritz Opens Up About Fashion, Rankings, and His Tennis Journey
Balancing Style and Sport
Taylor Fritz recently shed light on his approach to fashion, acknowledging that while his girlfriend, Morgan Riddle, has an undeniable influence, he occasionally downplays her role in his style choices. Instead, he credits his Los Angeles roots for shaping his classy yet laid-back aesthetic both on and off the court.
Fritz, who has been dating Riddle since 2020, is no stranger to the world of fashion. Riddle, a social media influencer with 427K followers as of February 2025, is widely recognized for her eclectic fashion sense, making her a prominent figure in brand partnerships and tennis events.
In an exclusive interview with Racquet Magazine published on January 27, Fritz spoke about his evolving fashion identity and how it complements his off-court persona.
“I’ve always been very into fashion—to have this off-court image and persona that allows people to connect with me beyond tennis. Fashion and modeling are great ways to express who I am,” Fritz explained.
While he values Riddle’s input, he humorously admitted to occasionally ignoring her advice, preferring a style influenced by his California upbringing.
“Sometimes I ignore her advice. I gravitate toward a more casual LA/San Diego streetwear style, but I also enjoy dressing up in a classier way. That’s where BOSS comes in as an option. I change it up based on my mood and the occasion,” he added.
Fritz’s fashion influence expanded significantly when he signed as a global ambassador for Hugo Boss in March 2024. This partnership solidified his reputation as a fashion icon, further boosting his sponsorship portfolio with a lucrative annual contract.
Climbing the ATP Rankings
Beyond fashion, Fritz is also making waves on the court. His strong 2024 season saw him climb the ATP rankings, securing the No. 4 spot as of February 2025—surpassing tennis giants like Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev.
In the same interview, the 27-year-old reflected on his rise, expressing pride in his achievements despite not yet winning a Grand Slam title.
“There are so many great players ranked below me, and I know I’ve earned my spot. I definitely feel like I belong. We all want to be ‘that guy,’ and I’m constantly looking for ways to improve. I analyze every loss and focus on areas where I can realistically get better. Hard work has been key in setting new personal bests,” he shared.
Looking Ahead: The Dallas Open
Fritz is now preparing for his next challenge at the Dallas Open, where he is set to kick off his title pursuit against Arthur Rinderknech on Wednesday, February 5. With momentum on his side, the American star is eager to continue proving himself as both a fashion-forward athlete and a top-tier competitor on the ATP Tour.
