Humphries: “It Just Wouldn’t Stop Bleeding”

After the match, Humphries confirmed he had injured himself while pulling his darts from the practice board, accidentally cutting his hand on the wires.

“A difficult night all around, and I just fell short in the end. An unexpected finger injury didn’t help either,” Humphries wrote on X.

“Fair play to [Luke Littler] and I’ll be back next week to do it all again in Dublin.”

When a fan asked what happened, the 2024 world champion replied:

“Pulled my darts out the practice board and cut it on the wires, then it just wouldn’t stop bleeding haha.”

Crowd Trouble Overshadows Glasgow Night

The match was further disrupted by boos and whistles from the crowd, frustrating both players. Rob Cross was also targeted earlier in the night, with spectators booing him while he had match darts in hand.

Littler, who had lost in Belfast last week, admitted that the noise affected him and criticized referee Kirk Bevins for making it worse by trying to quiet the crowd.

“There were a few in particular that were doing it when Luke [Humphries] was throwing,” Littler said.

“Kirk told them to be quiet, and it made it even worse. I missed doubles, Luke breaks at 5-4. I’m just like, ‘Kirk, you’ve made it even worse for me, I’m 5-4 down.’ But I broke back and held my throw again.”

When asked how referees should handle similar situations, Littler added:

“If it’s the same as it was when Kirk said it, then yeah, leave it. Obviously, they’ve got to step in and say something, but yeah, it was pretty bad. But I got the win.”

What’s Next?

With Dublin next on the Premier League schedule, both Littler and Humphries will be looking to put the Glasgow chaos behind them as they continue their campaigns.
