Luke Littler Reflects on Life on the Road and His Favorite Destinations
Luke Littler has had a whirlwind year, capped off by his triumph at the Paddy Power PDC World Darts Championship. At just 18 years old, Littler has already become a household name in the darts world, dazzling fans with his talent and making an impact on the global stage.
Despite a relentless travel schedule that takes him across continents, there’s one destination he can’t get enough of.
“I enjoyed it all—it was a new experience for me,” Littler told Daily Star Sport earlier this month. “This year, I know what’s coming, but I always say the best place is Berlin for the Premier League of Darts. And obviously, visiting New York!”
His fondness for Berlin is clear, as he eagerly anticipates competing in the Premier League of Darts event there on April 3rd. However, with his demanding itinerary, sightseeing is often a luxury he can’t afford.
“It depends where we stay,” Littler explained. “We go to Germany quite a lot! But usually, it’s hotel, food, and then you’re off to the venue to play darts… We finish very late.”
Balancing Competition and Life on Tour
Littler’s recent Premier League of Darts victory over Luke Humphries in Glasgow showcased his return to form. Yet, the life of a professional athlete means long nights and limited downtime, often spent shuffling between hotels and tournament venues.
Diet is another challenge on tour, something Littler acknowledges with a touch of humor:
“You can’t just go to a salad place, but most of the time I won’t eat because it’s not a good time to eat at 11pm or 12am. Most of the time, you just want to go to bed!”
Exploring the World—When Time Allows
When asked if he regrets missing out on exploring the places he visits, Littler admits that his schedule doesn’t leave much room for sightseeing.
“Not really, because the schedule is tight! So I just want to be in bed all day, but when we go out, we try to have a look around.”
For now, Littler remains focused on his Premier League of Darts campaign, with Berlin and New York among the stops he’s most excited for. Despite the demanding nature of his career, his love for the game—and the places it takes him—continues to shine through.
