Carlos Alcaraz Jokes About His “Lonely” Single Life Amid Busy Tennis Schedule

Carlos Alcaraz isn’t holding back when discussing his “lonely” single life. The 21-year-old Spaniard recently had an amusing response to a fan’s question about his relationship status, making it clear that he’s still searching for the right person.

While Alcaraz rarely speaks about his personal life, he has previously admitted that his demanding travel schedule makes dating difficult. In a 2024 interview with The Sunday Times, he candidly shared his struggles:

“No, I am single. I am looking for someone. It can be difficult as a tennis player to meet the right person because you are traveling all the time.”

Alcaraz’s Playful Response to Engagement Question

Before the 2025 Australian Open, Alcaraz once again hinted at his single status. After playing an exhibition match against recently engaged Alex de Minaur, he was asked about his own plans for engagement. His response? A mix of humor and self-awareness:

“Who knows this year? [Laughs]… No, no, no, engagement so far. Single, so far. I laughed with some close people that during the break, three or four players got engaged. I thought it was my turn, but not yet.”

Alcaraz’s Hilarious Instagram Reply on His “Lonely” Life

The four-time Grand Slam champion recently poked fun at himself once again in a “What’s in my bag” parody video for his sponsor El Pozo—Legado Ibérico. In the clip, Alcaraz revealed some of his essentials, including a sweatshirt, a pool float, an electric razor, and, of course, Legado ham.

One fan took the opportunity to tease him, asking in the comments:

Alcaraz Turns His Focus to Indian Wells

While his personal life may be a topic of amusement, Alcaraz is fully focused on the court as he gears up for Indian Wells, where he is the two-time defending champion.

The Spaniard has had a mixed start to the season, reaching the Australian Open quarterfinals, winning his first indoor hardcourt title in Rotterdam, but later suffering a disappointing loss to Jiri Lehecka in Doha.

After a brief training block in Spain, Alcaraz has now arrived in Puerto Rico, where he will face Frances Tiafoe in an exhibition match on March 2. He will then head to Indian Wells, where he is expected to be the second seed behind World No. 2 Alexander Zverev.

While his search for the right partner continues, Alcaraz remains laser-focused on defending his title in California.
