Sabalenka & Agassi Secure Victory Over Osaka & Fish

The Belarusian and the eight-time Grand Slam champion took on the duo of Naomi Osaka and Mardy Fish, edging them out 10-8 in a thrilling one-round tiebreaker at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. The venue has a special history for Agassi, as it was the same place where he and his wife, Steffi Graf, defeated Andy Roddick and Eugenie Bouchard to win Pickleball 3.

Sabalenka & Agassi’s Playful Banter Before the Match

Agassi: “We’re better because of [my] partner—I’m already sweating just being close to her!”

Sabalenka: “I have to say, we’re much better because my outfit matches his headband!”

The duo’s chemistry translated well onto the court, as they powered through to victory against Osaka and Fish.

What’s Next for Sabalenka?

Following her exciting stint in Las Vegas, Sabalenka is shifting her focus to the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. Despite a disappointing second-round exit at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships—where she fell to Clara Tauson (3-6, 2-6)—Sabalenka remains a strong contender heading into the Sunshine Swing.

She came agonizingly close to the Indian Wells title in 2023, finishing runner-up to Elena Rybakina, but will be eager to go one step further this year. While she’s yet to lift the singles trophy, she does have history at the event, having won the doubles title in 2019—a feat she followed up by claiming the Miami Open doubles title to complete the Sunshine Double.
